Reforming Dysfunctional Relationships vol. 1
As we embark on the covenant of marriage we usually have no real understnading of how a good marriage is supposed to look, because of poor examples before us. The Lord had a plan for all of that in His word,
" Wives, submit yourselves to your husbands, as is fitting in the Lord."
Colossians 3:18
God desires for a Wife to submit to their husband. Not just one wife but all wives. We look at this scripture as if the Husband and wife are these perfect people without problems or insecurities but that is an incorrect assumption.
If we learn to understand that our submission to our husband is not really about how good they are but it is about our willingness to be obedient to God inspite of!
It is fitting (right, correct behavior, good character) in the Lord for a wife to submit to her husband and follow his lead, but also that the Husband will also submit to the wife so that God is pleased.
Marriage is not about control but about shared responsibility and security in who you both are and your relationship with God and eachother.
